liked "disco" music in high school. She has been well travelled and has lived
in Washington, D.C. and Los Angeles. She remembers the fun times she had with
her "good group of friends, who all knew each other well." |
 | Betsy Southard Williams lives in Oklahoma and operates a service
for missionaries, including Connie Acker Otten and her husband, who
live in the Ukraine. She also does editorial work for Honor Books and other
Tulsa, OK based publishers. Her fondest memories from high school are of her
friends. However, being chased after throwing water balloons at the "parkers"
on Bankhead Parkway is something she wishes had not happened. |

Alice is a teacher for the hearing impaired. In high school Alice's favorite

go to Burger King and her fondest memory was being in drama and going to
Hawaii with Sharon Megginson the summer of their junior year. |

software applications company. He writes that his accomplishments are raising
a two year old in his late 30's and that he took a year off to relax, play
golf and travel. At HHS, Kevin drove a 1971 Camaro and listened to "Free
Bird". Now he likes any kind of music where Barney isn't singing! Kevin's
fondest memory of high school was the senior trip. |

memory was "playing baseball and being smart enough to try out for

Kelly a seasonal children’s consignment business, Kid’s Market. Sherri
is also currently studying ballet. In high school, she drove a Brown Pinto and
her fondest memory is her friends and "sandwiches" in the halls. |

 | Donna Gibbons Harrison and her husband Wes live in Pelham. In
high school, Donna drove a brown Honda Civic and her favorite teacher was Ms.
Grace. Donna now is a Respiratory Therapist/Nursing Student and has done
several interesting things since high school: She went on a nursing
mission trip to Venezuela, worked at a diabetic camp for youth this past June,
got certified in scuba diving and went hiking in Mexico. |

Belanger. At HHS, Rachal drove "whatever my parents didn't want" and her

 | Teresa Bailey Stephens lives in Alexander City with her husband
Mike. She is a news writer for The Outlook. In high school she drove a 1972
Blue Oldsmobile convertible and her favorite song was “Amy” by Pure Prairie
League. Since high school Teresa has traveled to Europe twice, Jamaica and
survived a form of leukemia. She has nothing to regret from high school, as
she “was good”, it’s her college years she tries to avoid. Her fondest memory
is the day she graduated. |
 | Andrew (Andy) Harvey lives in Dunwoody, GA and works as a
Geologist. About his professional life he writes “Saw a landfill on fire
underground, participated in an emergency cleanup of 2000 drums of dicamba (a
nasty herbicide), worked on navy bases all over the southeast, etc.” At HHS,
Andy drove a 1976 Pontiac Lemans and like AC/DC’s “Back in Black”. His
favorite teacher was Mrs. Horgen. Andy has about 25 things he regrets “the
tamest of which was dousing Danny Connor’s books with a fire extinguisher that
would not turn off-it dusted half the school.” He is joking when he says his
favorite memory was running suicides in basketball practice. It really was
graduating. |
 | Susan Andrews lives in Birmingham and works in sales. In high
school, Susans' favorite teacher was Mrs. Wright and she drove "the Ghetto
Mobile". Her favorite song was, and is, "Lights" by Styx. |
 | Susan Vaughn Terry and her husband Robert live in Huntsville where
she is the part-time children's director at Holmes Street United Methodist
Church and a full time Mom. Susan is an artist and is currently doing
work in acrylics. She has also done pen/ink drawings and has won some
awards for her work. In high school she drove a 1976 white AMC Pacer,
which was also known as her "upside-down bathtub". Her fondest memory is
working in the office with Mrs. Neeley and Mrs. Pukl and making first cut in
the beauty walk. |

 | Holly Harris Holder is married to Don and they have two boys, the
second of which was born in the Holly’s car. At HHS, Holly’s favorite teacher
was Mr. Swanson and she liked the song “Thunder Road” by Bruce Springsteen.
Holly writes that in response to the regrets question “I’m not ashamed of it,
but the many stupid things like throwing water balloon at parkers on Bankhead
Parkway…” She also writes “ I hope my children, if they hear about it, will be
creative enough to easily top with much better ways of having fun.” Holly’s
fondest memory is the time spent in the presence of Tricia, Sissy,
Lori, Karen, Phyllis, Keating and Dean. |
 | Brian Patterson is in the architectural/interior design field and
has numerous accomplishments. Brian designed and patented the "Ambiary"- the
first "Chandelier on a pole" designed for use in an umbrella table in lieu of
an umbrella. Check it out at www.ambiary.com. He has also designed luxury
hotels nationally and internationally, including the Loews Hotel in South
beach, The Kizilkum Holiday resort in Marmarus Turkey and the Ritz Carlton
Boston Commons - the first contemporary Ritz Carlton in the US. In high
school, when it came to cars, Brian was "blessed in quantity, yet cursed in
quality, I had three options - The 1972 Ford Century Squire station wagon, the
1969 Opel station wagon, and the classic 1974 Gremlin (fire engine red no
doubt, featuring black vinyl interior and no air conditioning - a virtual
inferno on wheels." Brian writes that he regrets "I was taking Lavinia
Spillman's computer programming class which I detested. Out of boredom one
day, I programmed the computer to display a disparaging remark about Lora
Schultz. I liked Lora, so my motive was not to insult her. I just wanted to
sit back and see how the techies would explain the "program gone awry".
Henry Everitt was the smartest programmer in the class, so he was
unfortunately identified as the antagonist. Nobody suspected that I had done
the deed. (Sorry, Henry.)" Brian's fondest memory was his Ugly Walk victory in
1981. |
 | Kelley Vann Johns and her husband Derek (not related to Keating
Johns) live in Huntsville with their two children. Kelley is the "Director of
Household Services" for her family; before taking that challenging position
she worked on Space Shuttle integration and had the chance to meet some of the
astronauts. In high school her favorite teacher was John White for art and she
drove a VW Squareback. Her fondest memories are of the energy of football
games and graduating. |
 | Darla Summers Blake and her husband Ryan live in Woodstock, GA. She
is the sales coordinator for a recycling company. Darla went back to college
10 years after she graduated from HHS. She received a bachelor's degree and
masters while living with her younger sister at school. In high school, her
favorite teacher was Mrs. Wright and she drove a 1976 VW Beetle. Her favorite
song was "Fantastic Voyage" by Lakeside. She would not want her kids to know
that she and Sissy Stone sneaked out at lunch time, climbed the fence
along Bob Wallace Ave to have lunch and watch the dating game at Sissy's
house. Darla's fondest memory of high school is TT's cruise before their

 | Rebecca Hamiter is a pharmaceutical specialist in Birmingham. She
has traveled the world since high school and visited some twenty countries. In
high school her favorite teacher was Coach Haynes, favorite band was Earth,
Wind & Fire and she drove a Buick regal. Her fondest memories are her close
friends. |
 | Paul Dailey lives in Huntsville and is the proud father of three
including a two-week old baby! Paul works for Intergraph. In his spare time,
Paul is a high school football official and last year worked a state playoff
game with Mark Russell. Paul was the linesman and Mark was the line
judge. In addition, Paul has been honored to referee in the state All-Star
game, Super 6 and most importantly last year's Huntsville-Grissom game. |
 | David Howard, his wife Kim and two children, Caroline age 12 and
Ethan age 9 live in Germantown, TN. David is an investment banker with Morgan
Keegan and holds an MBA from University of North Carolina. In high school his
favorite song was "Thunder Road" by Bruce Springsteen and he says it still is
his favorite. His favorite teacher was Mrs. Smith for chemistry and her drove
a 1974 Orange Vega GT Station Wagon. His fondest memory is having a great time
doing whatever with his best friend Mike Thompson, who's still his best

 | Susan Holbrook lives in Atlanta and is the office manager at The
Margaret Mitchell House and lead vocalist of a wedding band called "Numerous
Complaints". She has played drums for the past 11 years in punk and garage
rock bands and recorded two CD's for Ng, a New York based label. In high
school Susan drove a 1973 Army-Green Vega with rust spots and her favorite
teacher was Sandra Norton. Her favorite song then was "Whip It" by DEVO and
now it is "Breakout" by Foo Fighters. Susan is engaged to Tim Vaccaro. |

thinks that she and Kevin have been together the longest of any of our

 | Susan Clements is an Office Manager here in Huntsville for two
consulting Companies (owned by the wife) and a CPA firm (owned by the
husband). In high school she drove a brand new Cutlass Supreme her parents
surprised her with when she returned home from Young Life's western tour. She
says "What a shock when I got off that bus!" Her favorites music was anything
by Styx, Eagles or Aerosmith. Her favorite memories were skipping school with
friends and the many trips to Ft. Walton. |
 | Anne Herrington Darnell is in private practice as a Rehabilitation
Consultant in Huntsville. Her favorite teacher in high school was Mrs. Wright
for Home Ec and her favorite song was "Time in a Bottle" by Jim Croce. Anne
received a master's degree from UAB in Rehabilitation Counseling and has two
daughters Alexandria 6 and Hannah 2 ½. Anne can't tell any good stories as she
writes "can't say-my daughter can read and is in the room". Anne's fondest
memories are dances and being in 3 sororities. |
 | Laura Smith Gossett and her husband Chris live in Birmingham where
Laura is an interior decorator. Her favorite teacher in high school was Mrs.
Walters and she drove her dad's green LTD 2. Her fondest memories were our
senior year from homecoming to graduation. Laura's Birthday is July 13 so we
will have to celebrate it in style. |
 | Sharon Gregg Daughtry is married to Jim and they live in
Huntsville. Since high school, Sharon has got a nursing degree, spent four
years in Sweden, was a volunteer leader with Young Life and became a pastor's
wife with three kids! Her favorite song in high school was "Dust in the Wind"
by Kansas and her fondest memory was football games. |
 | Allison Saile Neal and her husband Mike live in Huntsville. Allison
had a kidney transplant on Valentines 2001 and reports she is "doing great".
In high school she drove the ultimate car, a 1978 Datsun 280Z. Her favorite
music was and still is anything by Aerosmith. Allison writes that the last day
of school she spent as Scenic Overlook and it was a wonderful day. Her fondest
memory of high school was being at Krystal listening to "Money" by Pink Floyd
blasting out of Byron Carlise's 4 door LTD. |
 | Mark Richards and his wife Mary live in Huntsville with their three
children Erin (12), Katie (11) and Graham (5), who he will never tell that he
cruised Hickory Flats with adult beverages. Mark is an engineering manager at
Lockheed Martin and still finds time to play hockey. In high school Mark's
favorite teacher was Mr. G and he drove a 1968 VW Beetle. His favorite song
was "All of My Love" by Led Zeppelin and his fondest memory was Pep Ralleys
and Basketball games. In Mark's professional life he has worked closely with
several astronauts. |
 | Angela Wooden Etheridge lives in Auburn. She loves to fly fish and
has traveled the jungles of Brazil Her favorite teacher was Joe Sobotka and
Mr. Akbay. In high school she drove "Black Velvet" an old maroon station wagon
with black velvet seat covers. Her favorite song was "Hold on Loosely" by .38
Special. Her fondest memories are "All the fun we had cheering and going on
trips. Riding around with Willa and the gang on Friday night. Going to
the beach with our 'sororities'. It was all fun!" |
 | Stephanie Brown Patton lives in Tuscaloosa and works as a manager
of a veterinary practice. In high school she drove a Buick LeSabre and her
favorite song was Lakeside – "Fantastic Voyage". Stephanie now admits that she
and Phyllis Priest painted the Senior Wall after they graduated to
hamper the efforts of the Class of '82. One night they climbed up a pipe by
the gym, the paint was already there-provided of course by the next senior
class. By dawn's light the word "stephil" was on the wall. She never finished
painting her name for fear of incrimination. The "phil" was for Phyllis.
Steph’s clothes were ruined and so was the pillowcase she slept on that night.
Paint somehow had gotten in her hair, much to her Mother’s "delight".
Stephanie also says "Michelle Morard and I were in Michele’s Honda one
night, we drove onto Huntsville Middle School’s track and tried to see we
could get the car into 4th gear". In another amazing feat, Stephanie says
Ann Hollis, Laura Christy and I were in Ann’s Volkswagen Beetle. We
were on Governor’s coming down the mountain and decided to "cut through" to
Garth road, where we all lived. As you know, there isn’t a cut through,
so we pulled off the road across from the Scenic overlook, careened through
the woods at a steep pitch and promptly drove to Laura’s house." |
 | Stuart Wilson and his wife Beverly live in Huntsville where he is a
Firefighter/EMT. Stuart has many interesting experiences in his professional
life and some he say would seem exciting and others would make you sick! His
favorite teacher was Coach McKee and he drove a Grand Prix. His favorites
bands were Journey and the Eagles. His fondest memory was "hanging out with my
friends and partying, Hickory Flats, Spacewalk, my first true love and some of
the most embarrassing things that have ever happened to me in my life. Last
but not least was playing football (as bad as we were) with a great bunch of

 | Mike Henson lives in Hampton Cove with his wife Deana. He is a
territory sales manager for electronic components. He has done several
interesting things including participating in a cattle drive, restored a '66
Mustang, skydived and once flew a military jet. His favorite song was Super
Tramp's "Long Way Home" and now it is Aerosmith's "Angel". He is ashamed to
admit to his children his high school grades. His fondest memory was Sadie
Hawkins 1981. |

the moments spent at band camp in Maryville. |
 | Steve Smith is an architect in Huntsville. He is married to
Melanie. He has designed several buildings including: Madison Veterinary
Hospital, Scottsboro Utilities, Willow brook Baptist Church, building 5405 on
the Arsenal and a Marine Corps Armory in Beaufort, SC. In addition to his
work, Steve has traveled to England and just returned from Warroad, Minnesota
and Canada. In high school, Steve drove his dad’s Nova when he was away. His
fondest memory is listening to Coach Willis trying to explain his combination
fill-in-the-blank/true-false test questions. |

to Mark A. Rasco. She says " these days I spend most of my time with my family
and doing lots of volunteer community work. My latest job is serving as a girl
scout leader for both of my daughters’ troops. It’s a good life" In high
school Jeanne’s favorite teacher was Mrs. Walters and she regrets that instead
of concentrating in Physics class, she was passing juicy notes to her friends
Pat Cooney and Paul Dailey. Her fondest memories were sitting
with the marching band at football games and playing with the stage band at

 | Tammie Berzett works at Dynetics as a Senior Schedule Analyst for
Program Management. Her favorite teacher was Ms. Fanning and her fondest
memory was working with Ramsey Nuwayhid on the Ugly Walk Set. The theme
was based on the Rolling Stones lips and tongue. "Preparing those monster lips
and setting them anchored on stage was not an easy task." Tammie was
instrumental in working on the reunion as she is the only one of us that kept
us with the night life in Huntsville. Tammie says " I have been known to ride
a mechanical bull or two…and have never been thrown…ha" |

two children to know that she skipped school to hang out at Krystal. Her

of four. She went back to school at age 30 and likes to fish. In high school
she drove a 1972 Semi-Automatic Volkswagon. Her favorite song was "Free Bird".

 | Laura Giardini lives in Huntsville and works as a CM/DM specialist.
(Configuration and Data Management). Her favorite teacher was Coach Haynes and
she drove a Datsun Honeybee. Her favorite song was "La Freak"! She is ashamed
to tell her children that she sold check-out slips for one dollar each. Her
fondest memory was being the "Boss" during initiation week for Anchor club. |
 | Sally Berg Ward lives in Hendersonville, NC with her husband and
four girls. Sally is busy being a mother and teaching her children at home.
Interestingly, Sally lived two years in Uganda, Africa. Sally drove a Honda
Civic (old kind) and a Dodge Omni in high school. Her favorite songs were by
Earth, Wind and Fire and now she just enjoys silence at the end of the day.
Sally correctly answered the question about what was she ashamed of by stating
"Since some of them can read, I’ll pass on this question". Her fondest
memories were being in school after hours to do stuff for Student Council and
Delta Tri Sigma. |
 | Jenny Miller lives in Marietta, Georgia and works as an RN. As part
of her choir, Jenny sung the National Anthem at the National League Playoffs!
She has also done medical mission work in Africa, South America, Dominican
Republic, Mexico and Spain. |
 | Neila Cole Jager lives in Huntsville and is a stay at home Mom. She
married in 1998 and has three lovely children. Her favorite song was "Burn
Rubber" by the GAP Band. Her fondest memory of high school was hanging out
with friends like Caroline Dellinger, Stuart Wilson, Missye
Cooper, Jennifer Hurt, Glennis Jenkins, Joe Medlen,
Sheree Phillips, Mark Russell, Doug Lumpkin, Bill
Crownover and others. |
 | Cynthia Ball Pellerin is married and lives in Huntsville. She works
in Advertising Sales for Bell South. She had done a lot of traveling and had a
baby since high school. |
 | Caroline Davis Felker is a teacher at Blossomwood elementary in
Huntsville. Her favorite teacher in high School was Mrs. Smith for chemistry.
Her fondest memory was graduation. |
 | Brad Lapidus is a businessman in Huntsville. His favorite teacher
was Mr. Swanson. In High School he drove a very cool Monte Carlo and enjoyed
Styx "Sail Away". Now his favorite song is "Brown Eyed Girl" by Van Morrison.

she is a Hospital Administrator. In high school she drove a 69 Buick Special. |
 | Doug Jones lives in Harvest, AL and works as an engineer. His
favorite teacher was Betty Dinwiddie for Senior Social Studies. In high school
he drove a 1970 Brown Buick Station Wagon and/or a 1974 Yellow Datsun 710. His
fondest memory was graduation day. |
 | Sharon Verble lives in Huntsville with her husband Jim and their
two children. She is a home designer. When asked what kind of car did she
drive she said "My Parents’". She does not want to tell her kids she skipped
class and her fondest memories were the prom and graduation. |

hunter. His favorite teacher was Mr. Clark and in high school he drove a 1967
Camaro. His fondest memories were "hanging out with my friends and having a

He is responsible for all student media. Paul writes "I have worked at
four daily Alabama newspapers and met some interesting folks including Sam
Walton and Shirley "Mrs. Partridge" Jones. In the Met’s clubhouse after
a game vs. Atlanta, infamous baseball star Darryl Strawberry burped in my

occupation is "Domestic Engineer" i.e. Mom. She and her husband Scott
have three children. Michelle says all three weighed at least ten pounds
at birth and she did not have an epidural with any of them! Her favorite

family. Along with her many duties to her family, she assisted in decorating
Atlanta Brave’s President John Schurholtz’s home in Naples, FL. Her

She is the regional advisor for the The Longaberger Co. Tara says she
went from being a shy person terrified of public speaking to a profession that

She is an office manager for a dental practice and has met Vince Gill, Nancy
Griffith and Emmylou Harris. She drove a 280Z in high school and wishes
she still had it now. |

always doing something interesting and is an avid surfer. He "takes the
fifth" on any activities he might be ashamed to tell his children. His
favorite memories of high school are hanging with friends, playing baseball,
going to football game and watching Robbie Masucci learn to drive a manual

and no ex-kids". A television director/producer, he has won Associated
Press Awards for directing live sports events and specials. His favorite
